Cabbage Chutney

cabbage-1 medium size
mustard seeds-1/4tsp
cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
split Bengal gram-2 tsp
shredded coconut-5 tsp
garlic-2 flakes
tamarind-11/2 tsp
red chillies-3
salt for taste
1.Take 2 teaspoons of oil in a pan. heat it
2.Put mustard seeds in the oil, once the popping sound starts put the cumin seeds and then put the split Bengal gram wait till it becomes light brown. then put the red chillies.
3.Cut the cabbage into small pieces and put the shredded cabbage in the pan and place the lid then boil it for 10 mins then add the shredded coconut
4.Remove the pan from the flame and cool it. Then add the garlic flakes and tamarind and blend it.
5. Add salt for taste.

oh... though i dont like cabbage... looks like it will taste good as chetney... nice recipe....

Will cabbage chutney taste good for Idly or Dosa ? :-) I would like to know how to do a briyani ,.. let me know a easy way to make hyderabadi briyani,.. boyz style...the steps needs to be really easy to follow :-)

Most of the cabbage dishes are insipid . At last I found a dish which is delicious . Waiting more of exotic dishes from this user .

Cathy can you please also tell us how to make delicious south Indian tamarind rice .

no doubt cabbage chutny is good with Dosa as well as idly.The real beauty is it adds Calcium to our body.The only vegetable full of calcium.
